OUR STUDENTS ARE HITTING THE GROUND RUNNING OCT 7, FOR OUR 7TH ANNUAL PTA JOG-A-THON

Here is some quick information on our 7th Annual PTA Jog-a-thon being held at CHPCS on October 7, 2013:

This event is the PTA’s primary fundraiser and we hope to have every family participate!  Our first Jog-a-thon was held in 2007 and has been a greater success with each passing year thanks to the participation and dedication of students and parents.

What Is the Jog-a-Thon?
On Jog-a-Thon day, students have the opportunity to run, walk, or skip as many laps as they can complete in 30 minutes. Grades Kindi-2nd will run their laps from 9:00-9:30 a.m.  Grades 3-5th will run their laps from 10:00-10:30 a.m. and Grades 6-8th will have their lap time from 11:00-11:30 a.m.  We will hold the jog-a-thon in our school fields.  After running their laps, students will receive a treat for their great efforts!  Water jugs will also be available to refill their personal water bottles.

THE BIRTHDAY FUN-DRAISER RETURNS TO CHPCS!!

Our first party, for all children born in June-September will be held on September 26th from 3:45-5 pm!

We have some wonderful birthday party themes: Aikido, Healthy and Fun Choices, gardening, science, Legos, and more - you are welcome to bring your own talent and ideas.

The Birthday Fun-draiser is a way for children and families to redirect funds that would normally be spent for birthday celebrations into a donation to the school. Parents would donate money that would have been spent on a party elsewhere to the school. Guests donate money they would have spent on a birthday present to the school as well. The birthday child will receive a certificate and a $25 gift card to the Learning Palace.

The birthday child will have the option to choose where the money will be used (e.g. school supplies, renting a bus for a class field trip, gym equipment, art supplies, music programs).

Guidelines are as follows:

· All members of the birthday child's class are invited.
· The birthday child may invite friends and family from outside the school
· Parents will provide invitations and any food and drink they want served.
· Parents will be present to celebrate and help supervise.
· The Birthday Fun-draising team will organize, set up, and clean up after the event with the help of parents.

We have a space limit for 5 birthday children from 2 classes, so sign up soon (deadline is Sep 19)

Please contact Iwona Erbe gosciewska@yahoo.com or Serene Perkins sperkins429@gmail.com if you and your child would be interested in having a birthday party at Cascade Heights in September.

We are also looking for parents who are willing to be part of a team to organize parties on a regular basis, or for anyone with talents and interests they would be willing to donate for future events.
